Our Story...So Far

SOOO...why does my favorite Pizza Place have a Strawberry for a logo?

320 Market Café got its start in 1991 as "320 Produce" in Swarthmore, PA. A nice corner spot right on Route 320 (oh ok, that makes sense!) The owners, two brothers named Jack and Dave, were inspired by their Dad and his love for the fruit stands they would visit at the beach together as kids. Fresh fruit, especially strawberries, was EVERYTHING! They wanted it to be fresh, they wanted it to be convenient, they wanted it to be unique. With that in mind, Jack and Dave started to understand something.


“If we cut the fruit right, with our own hands, it just tastes better.

Fast forward to today... We have grown to two locations, Swarthmore and Media. As you may have seen, we've made and tried to do a lot of different things. Some have stayed, some have gone, but untimely, whenever we tried something, we did it with our own hands.  It was always a point of pride. Here's a few things we are particularly proud of that we make RIGHT NOW.

We like to say, "Thanks for your patience, we started making your pizza 3 days ago!"

Our dough is made from scratch every single day, at least 100lbs! Bulked fermented on day one and then precisely balled and cold fermented for a second day, its finally ready for sauce cheese and toppings on day three. We think it's the best you are going to find in Delco.

Chef's Case

In the beginning, the produce displays were our daily source of fresh inspiration. As we evolved to make more food from scratch, the Chef Case has become the centerpiece of the store, overflowing with fresh ideas and seasonal variety.

Pico de Gallo Salsa + Chips

Our Signature product! When we first started, we would maybe sell 10 a day of our Pico de Gallo, and now we hustle to produce at least 200 to keep up! WE still make by hand and cut and dice every single creamy and ripe avocado in-house. But what is salsa without the chips! Ours are all corn and gluten free, cut a little thicker to hold up to our chunky salsa.

Every bottle on our shelf is meticulously curated to feature the best that modern wine has to offer. Natural, Organic, biodynamic, and delicious. We are humble and proud to be rated as one of the "15 Most Important Natural Wine Bars in America" by Food and Wine (2018).

Bowls

So much more then a salad, our Bowls incorporate fresh greens with rice, grains, and interesting proteins to make a unique offering that's eats like a meal. Each Bowl is inspired by different regions and cuisines, both local and abroad!

Jack & Dave

We get asked a lot, "with so many changes happening...are Jack and Dave still the owners?"

Yes they are! From the beginning, the brothers have tirelessly worked to evolve not only their business and their product, but also their role in the community and for its people.  From hand-punched timecards to 401k's, health care benefits, and our new Community Giving days, Jack and Dave are always looking for ways to make things feel more like a home for their customers and their staff.

Lynn

If you are an early riser, then you probably know Lynn. Up and working before the sun rises every day, she takes the lead on our Chef Case, making sure it runs like a clock and is fully stocked with all of your favorites. Nobody works harder for the customer than Lynn. "HOT LINE!"

Drew

From humble beginning as a server in Swarthmore to the Bar Manager in Media, Drew spends day and night working to build the best beer selection he can get his hands on. If you have stopped in for a beer at either location in the past 5 years, Drew probably remembers what you ordered.

DA

Starting out as a regular customer, DA soon found himself in the kitchen making the food himself! Our Director of Culinary works from dawn till dusk with his hands in everything we make, from Pizza to Dressings to Quiche to Perogies. Truly a Jack of All Trades, DA is also pretty darn handy with a wrench!

Pete

A lifetime ago, Pete got his start by washing dishes once a week and occasionally helping out behind the deli counter. 20+ years later, he is the Director of Operations for both locations, helping to grow and expand everything 320!.

Jim

For almost 15 years, Jim has helped and handled all things "320 Deli" through many different versions of 320 stations and locations. His main constant is that he is a lover of good food, especially sandwiches, and is passionate for making it right.

Emily

The Queen of Salads! Our Salads are the "IYKYK" secret at 320, and Emily has been the driving force behind this department for over 10 years now! Most recently, she also brought our brand new Bowls program to life and into your hands.
